Proper foot care is an essential part of diabetes management. Diabetes complications such as neuropathy or microvascular disease can increase the risk of foot ulcerations, delay wound healing and increase the risk of infections. If not properly controlled, this can lead to increased hospitalization and foot amputations. As such, it is imperative that proper foot care is addressed to prevent infections and amputations.
Our “Trick or Treat – Let’s Talk Feet” bulletin board serves as a guide and starting point to help you teach your patients how to manage and prevent foot injuries. This handout provides 11 key education tips for proper foot care, including strategies to prevent injuries, as well as signs and symptoms to watch for and how to manage them. Each point is action-oriented, practical, and easy to implement to help your patients make real and impactful changes.
Our Halloween themed illustrations make it easier to understand, especially for patients who are not keen on reading. Plus, we make this handout super fun! It is Halloween-themed, with decorations featuring feet belonging to various Halloween characters, including Frankenstein, Yeti, Witches, and even Werewolf!
Trust me, a fun education session is an effective learning experience for patients!
